Place in the AFC West: 4th
Record: 3-9
Record in third quarter: 2-2
Quarter MVP: Chris Chambers. The wide receiver has given the Chiefs a spark since he was claimed off waivers after being cut buy San Diego in early November. He is quarterback Matt Cassel's favorite target.
Third-quarter summary: It started great when the Chiefs beat Oakland and shocked Pittsburgh. It was the Chiefs’ first two-game winning streak in more than two years. However, all the positivity of the early portion of the quarter was blown up when Kansas City ended the quarter by losing to division foes San Diego and Denver by a combined 60 points.
Fourth-quarter goal: The Chiefs need to show progress in the final quarter. It would be nice for the team to finish the season with a couple of more victories, but overall, Kansas City has to show it can compete. The team has several young players. They have to show the organization they can be counted on in the future.
