Here’s a look at a player from each team in the AFC West to watch in Week 15:
Denver, Brandon Marshall, receiver: What is Marshall going to do for an encore? Marshall is the talk of the NFL this week after he set an NFL record with 21 catches against Indianapolis. Oakland will surely be keying on Marshall, but expect Denver to stick with the hot hand. Marshall needs 14 catches in the final three games to reach the 100-catch plateau for the third straight season.
Kansas City, Matt Cassel, quarterback: The home town is not tolerating Cassel's recent struggles. He has thrown six interceptions in the past two games, both in Kansas City. Cassel was booed for his four-interception effort Sunday against the Bills. The Chiefs host Cleveland on Sunday. If Cassel struggles again, the boos will get louder.
Oakland, Tyvon Branch, safety: Branch is quietly having an outstanding season. The second-year safety has 99 tackles for Oakland. He is becoming a difference maker and will help Oakland against Denver on Sunday.
San Diego, Mike Tolbert, fullback: Tolbert is becoming quite the weapon for San Diego. He is helping the team as a runner and as a receiver. The stout Tolbert bowls opponents over and he makes things happen. Watch for him to get more action out of the backfield as San Diego heads toward the playoffs, beginning with Sunday’s game against Cincinnati.
