Buffalo GM takes shot at Raiders

These are fighting words.

Too bad Oakland and Buffalo don’t play each other in 2010.

New Buffalo general manger Buddy Nix took a shot at Oakland while talking about how desperate people want to be NFL head coaches.

Check out what Nix had to say: "I'm trying not to exaggerate, but we got 15 calls a day, begging for an interview and wanting this job," Nix said. "I could've hired 35 or 40 the first week. And you would be shocked at some of the names.

"Trust me, it's a good job. Don't ever think you can't fill coaching jobs even if they're bad. Oakland gets a lot of calls."

Wow. He just called the Raiders gig a bad job. Maybe it is, but it’s stunning that someone in the league would say it. Usually, front-office types are above board when it comes to talking about other teams.

Yet, Nix, who was last with San Diego, took off the gloves. Still, Oakland fans, take solace. If Tom Cable is fired, Nix believes there will be a line of coaches waiting to take his place.
