Report: Chiefs unlikely to sign Culpepper

The Kansas City Star is reporting that the Chiefs likely will not sign veteran quarterback Daunte Culpepper.

Culpepper, who announced his retirement just prior to the season, could likely be talked back into playing. However, it may be difficult for Culpepper to want to play for a team that is struggling as mightily as the Chiefs.

If Culpepper doesn't sign with Kansas City, the Chiefs will still likely have to sign a quarterback. With Brodie Croyle out for the season and Damon Huard banged up, the Chiefs need help and they need it quickly, whether Culpepper can be talked into playing again or not.
