The candidates are:

Oakland hires offensive coordinator: The Raiders hired Baltimore quarterbacks coach Hue Jackson to be their offensive coordinator. The well-respected Jackson will call the plays in Oakland.

Former Chargers quarterback goes to the Super Bowl: Former San Diego starting quarterback Drew Brees led New Orleans over Minnesota in the NFC championship game. Brees, who left San Diego as a free agent in 2006, will face Indianapolis in the Super Bowl on Feb. 7.

Pees goes to Baltimore, not Denver: Former New England defensive coordinator Dean Pees went to Baltimore as linebackers coach. He was a candidate to reunite with fellow former New England assistant Josh McDaniels in Denver as defensive coordinator.
