Chargers' RB options shrink by one
By Bill Williamson
Scratch a running back option off San Diego’s wish list.
Minnesota free agent running back Chester Taylor signed with Chicago on Friday. The Bears jumped on Taylor.
San Diego will likely look for two new running backs as they move on from the LaDainian Tomlinson era. Taylor was one of the better veteran options available in a weak class.
San Diego could turn to Thomas Jones, who was cut by the Jets. San Diego will also target the position in the draft.
Meanwhile, the Chargers have announced they are bringing back defensive lineman Alfonso Boone back with a two-year deal. He was a free agent. Boone is a rotational linemen, who was effective last season.
