Champ Bailey is going to get one more week to rest his injured groin. Bailey, who was hurt Oct. 20, has practiced on a limited basis for more than a week, but he is still not ready to play. He was deactivated for today's game against Oakland.
Barring a setback, expect Bailey to be ready to play next Sunday at the New York Jets. The word out of Denver is that Bailey could have forced himself to play against the Raiders, but the team would rather have him near full strength to face Brett Favre next week.
Undrafted rookie Josh Bell is starting for Bailey for the second straight week. Bell has risen rapidly up Denver's depth chart. After being cut by San Diego, Bell was signed to the Denver practice squad. He has jumped over Karl Paymah and Jack Williams on his way to being the replacement for Bailey.
