DENVER -- Starting Denver tailback Peyton Hillis has been ruled out for the rest of Sunday's game.
He has a strained hamstring. Hillis was injured late in the second quarter and was having a good day before his injury. He had 58 yards rushing on eight carries, including an 18-yard touchdown run. He also had an 11-yard catch. He was hurt on that play.
Denver is down to one running back, Tatum Bell. He was signed in mid-November. Backup running backs Selvin Young and P.J. Pope are inactive.
Hillis was Denver's fifth running back. He started playing in early November because of injuries and he was flourishing in the starting role. It is not known how long he will be out.
