Brad Childress just ruined a good time. The Vikings coach decided not to bring Jared Allen to the Chiefs' training camp in River Falls, Wis., for the team's joint workout Thursday night.
The Allen sighting in purple was supposed to be the highlight of the workout. Of course, Allen was just traded to the Vikings from Kansas City in April. What a letdown.
Meanwhile, in Oakland's camp there is major relief. Quarterback JaMarcus Russell is back to practice after missing a couple of days with an injury. The Raiders need Russell and Russell needs all the work he can get as he is set to begin his first full season as the Raiders' starter.
