Oakland puts Charlie Frye on I.R.

The Oakland Raiders have put reserve quarterback Charlie Frye on the injured reserve with a wrist injury that needs to be surgically repaired. The loss of Frye opens the door for former first-round pick Kyle Boller to make the team. Boller is working as the backup with Bruce Gradkowski still recovering from an offseason injury.
Speaking of Oakland’s quarterbacks, here’s an ESPN.com piece that believes new starter Jason Campbell could be a nice fantasy-league pickup.
Darrius Heyward-Bey’s reclamation project is being slowed by fatigue. Yes, fatigue.
In other AFC West news, the Broncos signed journeyman defensive lineman Jason Hunter. He is looking for a backup job on the 53-man roster.
