Big night in Kansas City
By Bill Williamson
It’s a great night for Chiefs fans to be in Kansas City.
The Chiefs are previewing the New Arrowhead Stadium on Wednesday night at 7:15 p.m. local time. It gives fans a chance to get a free preview of the 2010 Chiefs and the renovated stadium in preparation for the team’s season opener Sept. 13 against San Diego on ESPN’s "Monday Night Football." The evening will feature a fireworks show.
The highlight of the event will be a preview of the Kansas City Chiefs' Hall of Honor. It’s the centerpiece of the new-look stadium and is said to be a stunning presentation of the Chiefs' rich history.
For the action on the field, fans can take a glimpse at defensive end Wallace Gilberry. The 2008 undrafted rookie is in the mix for a starting job at defensive end. If he wins the job, that means either Glenn Dorsey or Tyson Jackson would be benched. Dorsey was the No. 5 overall pick in 2008 and Jackson was the No. 3 overall pick in 2009.
While visiting Chiefs camp week, it appeared that Dorsey was further ahead than Jackson, who struggled badly as a rookie last season.
