Champ Bailey contract talks update

The Denver Post is reporting that the Broncos and starter Champ Bailey are in discussions about a new contract.
A league source close said the sides are still far apart and they're only in preliminary negotiations. The source acknowledged that talks can change at any moment, but as of right now, the sides are nowhere near finalizing the deal.
Bailey is a free agent at the end of this season, so there is some urgency involved. But he is still among the NFL’s best cornerbacks. He will likely be a priority free agent if he doesn’t re-sign with Denver.
San Diego should brace itself for a blackout for the home opener next week. If you want to see it, you might want to get a ticket.
Any talk that Oakland could go after free-agent center Kevin Mawae has ended. Mawae has retired.
Next Thursday is a key date in the Vincent Jackson saga in San Diego.
