Dexter McCluster doubtful to play Monday
By Bill Williamson
It appears we will have to wait to see the NFL debut of one of the most exciting rookies in the AFC West.
The Kansas City Chiefs listed second-round draft pick Dexter McCluster as doubtful to play Monday night against San Diego. McCluster has an unspecified illness. The Chiefs are planning to use McCluster in several ways and line him up both as a receiver and as a running back. He is an explosive player with game-breaking ability.
Yet, it seems like the Chiefs will not be able to unveil him against the Chargers.
Also, linebacker Tamba Hali is listed as a questionable with a foot injury. Hali is an important piece for Kansas City. He is the team’s best pass-rusher and the Chiefs were hoping for Hali to put pressure on San Diego left tackle Brandyn Dombrowski, who is playing for holdout Marcus McNeill.
