Richard Seymour misses practice
By Bill Williamson
Oakland star defensive lineman Richard Seymour didn’t practice Wednesday because of a hamstring injury. There is a chance Seymour could miss Sunday’s must-win game against the Colts. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Seymour decision wasn’t made until shortly before the game. Star Oakland cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha was limited by a nagging ankle injury. The team is hopeful he can play Sunday.
Star Oakland punter Shane Lechler expects to play against the Colts on Sunday despite a sore hamstring. I bet Lechler doesn’t practice much, but the only way he doesn’t play is if he has a setback during the weekend.
Kansas City quarterback Matt Cassel apparently came out of Sunday’s win over St. Louis in good shape. He was not on the Chiefs’ injury list Wednesday. Cassel led the Chiefs to a win over the Rams 11 days after he had an appendectomy.
Denver running back Knowshon Moreno did not practice Wednesday with a ribs injury that knocked him out of the Oakland game. Safety Brian Dawkins was limited in practice. A knee injury has kept him out of the past several games.
Denver put fullback Spencer Larsen on the injured reserve and re-signed guard Stanley Daniels. He was cut earlier this month.
San Diego quarterback Philip Rivers and Cassel are part of ESPN.com’s MVP Watch.
A Kansas City official said Wednesday that the team could be facing a blackout Sunday against Tennessee. That possibility is surprising considering that the Chiefs are 9-5 and 6-0 at home and are close to securing a playoff berth.
