The collapse of the Dallas Cowboys' practice bubble on Saturday was a reminder how fortunate the Denver Broncos were six years ago when a similar situation occurred.
A practice bubble at the Broncos' Dove Valley facility was destroyed in the summer of 2003. The bubble suddenly ripped and deflated like a popped balloon. No one was inside the bubble at the time of the collapse.
However, it did occur shortly before a training camp practice and it did cause quite a ruckus as staff members scrambled around to react to the unexpected issue. The Denver practice bubble was much less elaborate than the Cowboys' bubble with much less heavy material in it.
The Broncos never replaced the bubble. A large weight room stands now where the bubble used to be. The Broncos now rent a nearby bubble to practice in during inclement weather.
