According to agent Drew Rosenhaus' Twitter feed, San Diego special-teams ace Kassim Osgood could be had for a fourth-round pick.
The Chargers have been shopping Osgood this offseason. He's one of the best special-teams players in the NFL and gives San Diego's special teams a major presence.
However, he wants a chance to play more receiver, which San Diego has been reluctant to do. Also, Osgood was critical of coach Norv Turner last season. Still, if San Diego trades Osgood, it will have to fill the void he would leave on special teams.
If it wasn't for Osgood, all the upheaval in Denver this offseason may not have happened. Osgood recovered an onside kick in the final moments of a Week 15 San Diego win at Kansas City. Had Kansas City recovered the ball and won the game, San Diego would have lost the division title to Denver.
Mike Shanahan likely would not have been fired and the entire Jay Cutler saga would have never happened. Perhaps Osgood and the Chargers should continue their marriage.
