Report: Chiefs to work out Temple DE
By Bill Williamson
The Kansas City Chiefs are reportedly continuing to study the top pass-rushers available. NFL.com is reporting the Chiefs are going to have a private workout with Temple defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson. He is one of the top risers in the draft. The Chiefs have the No. 21 pick in the April 28 draft.
The Chiefs also reportedly have workouts scheduled with Missouri’s Aldon Smith and Georgia’s Justin Houston. Both Smith and Houston are pass-rushers who are expected to be taken in the first round.
In other early Tuesday nuggets in the AFC West:
- The Denver Post reports the Broncos are not interested in running back Tiki Barber, who is trying to attempt a comeback. He hasn’t played since 2006 and he will soon turn 36. New Denver coach John Fox was an assistant with the New York Giants when Barber was a player. I think it is a smart move not to show interest in Barber. There are plenty of other running backs in the sea. And all of them aren’t over the hill and have played in the past four years.
- The Chargers are not changing their season-ticket policy during the lockout.
