There has been a lot of talk in Kansas City about how tough new coach Todd Haley is on his players. Well, he ingratiated himself with the troops Tuesday by canceling the final two OTAs. The Chiefs won't gather until training camp.
Haley said he ended the session early because his team made good progress this spring. This was a nice move by the coach. His team goes into its final break of the year feeling good about him.
The Kansas City Star looks at the good and bad of the offseason workouts. There are some interesting names on both lists.
One new Oakland player thinks Jeff Garcia gives the team a better chance to win now than JaMarcus Russell. My thoughts: He's probably right, but this is about the long haul and Russell needs to be given a chance to show if he can hack it or not. I also wonder if these kind of comments will continue during the season if Russell struggles. I get the feeling that the Garcia-Russell talk is just beginning.
The Broncos cut special-teams player Louis Green.
