Smart trade down by the Chiefs
By Bill Williamson
The Kansas City Chiefs have traded the No. 21 pick to Cleveland. The Chiefs get the No. 27 pick and the No. 70 pick in return. This was a steal for the Chiefs, according to the draft value chart teams use.
I love this deal for the Chiefs. They also have the No. 55 pick in the second round and the No. 86 pick in the third round. The Chiefs are going to grab some nice players in the next two nights.
The way this board is falling, there will be a good player at No. 27, so this was a no-lose move for Kansas City general manager Scot Pioli, who will compile more young players for the defending division champions.
