The Denver Post reports that rookie tailback Knowshon Moreno may not be completely ready to go in time to play in the season opener at Cincinnati on Sept. 13. Moreno suffered a knee injury in the preseason opener. If he is not ready for the opener, Moreno isn't expected to miss too much more time.
It's looking more and more like LaDainian Tomlinson's playing time in the preseason is over. He did play in two preseason games for the first time in his career this year. Tomlinson will be ready to go when San Diego opens the regular season Sept. 14 at Oakland.
The Brandon Marshall saga in Denver took another turn when he didn't practice Thursday. Denver coach Josh McDaniels was vague about the reason why the starting receiver was out, only indicating that Marshall wasn't ready. I'm getting the feeling this situation is going to result in some type of team suspension for Marshall. It just doesn't seem to be getting better.
Oakland quarterback JaMarcus Russell looked strong as the Raiders' completed their training camp.
The San Diego Union Tribune is reporting cornerback Cletis Gordon has signed with Houston. He was a surprise cut by the Chargers this week.
