AFC West news and notes

The National Football Post reported that the Chiefs are talking about trading safeties Bernard Pollard . The team loves veteran Mike Brown and wants to get him more playing time. It’s risky, though, because Brown is 31 and injury-prone.
ESPN’s John Clayton said Friday that it wouldn’t be a complete shock if Oakland cuts quarterback Jeff Garcia, partly because he may be unhappy being a backup. That would be very intriguing.
The Chargers are resting several starters in tonight’s preseason finale.
The Colorado Springs Gazette reports Denver waived injured cornerback Josh Bell.
The Oakland Tribune looks at players who were cut Friday and wonders if they could fit in with the Raiders.
Here is a prediction that the Chiefs will win the AFC West. Seriously.
