AFC West notes
By Bill Williamson
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Denver’s leash on Tim Tebow is short and Brady Quinn could soon get a chance to start.
Schefter reports Quinn will be active Sunday at Oakland. Tebow has struggled badly in his two starts this season, so the Quinn talk is expected.
According to Schefter, the injury to Jason Campbell immensely helped the Bengals. Schefter reports, that prior to Campbell breaking his collarbone two days before the Bengals sent Palmer to Oakland, the best offer for Palmer was a third-round pick. Oakland gave up a first-round pick in 2012 and a second-round pick that could become a first in 2013.
Oakland paid the huge bounty for Palmer because it thinks he can lead the team to the playoffs.
The Chargers brought back receiver/returner Bryan Walters to their 53-man roster. Walters was cut and put on the practice squad last week. Linebacker Gerald Hayes was cut to make room for Walters.
