Mathews, Floyd out for Chargers
By Bill Williamson
SAN DIEGO –- As expected, the San Diego Chargers will be without running back Ryan Mathews and receiver Malcom Floyd.
Mathews has a groin injury and Floyd has a hip injury. Neither player practiced all week. Rookie Vincent Brown will start in place of Floyd; Mike Tolbert, who missed last week’s game with a hamstring injury, will start for Mathews.
Newly signed pass-rusher Everette Brown is also inactive for San Diego.
Meanwhile, San Diego fans had better bring it Sunday — the Packers fans are already bringing it. Hard.
While the stadium is far from full, Green Bay fans far outnumber San Diego fans. We’ve already had a “Go Pack, Go” chant.
I always go to Qualcomm Stadium via trolley. Usually, it's pretty full of San Diego fans. Sunday, it was standing-room only — and I saw one Chargers fan on the trolley. Seriously.
