KANSAS CITY -- Here is a look at key issues for the Chiefs tonight as they host St. Louis in their final preseason game.
Play well: Yes, it's broad, but the Chiefs need to show something after laying an egg in all three phases last week in a 24-0 defeat at Miami. The Chiefs' starters are going to play, which is rare for the final preseason game, but Kansas City coach Herman Edwards thinks his team needs the work. It has to be a night well spent.
Brodie Croyle: He, especially, has to do well. He struggled at Miami. Croyle is the quarterback in Kansas City and he has to head into the regular season with some confidence and some momentum. It would do him well to lead the Chiefs on a couple of scoring drives.
The young kickers: Nick Novak and Connor Barth will battle tonight to see who wins the kicking job. This battle took a serious twist this week when Kansas City signed veteran Jay Feely only to cut him a day later. Now, it's up to Novak and Barth again.
