Report: McAlister interested in Raiders
By Bill Williamson

The Baltimore Sun is reporting that former Ravens cornerback Chris McAlister has told friends he will eventually sign with the Oakland Raiders.
The report said McAlister is not close to being in playing shape and it could be a few weeks. It also said McAlister is expected to move to safety for Oakland.
It makes sense in some regards. Al Davis loves veterans and if McAlister can overcome knee injuries, he can still be an effective player. Davis has had no problems using former cornerbacks at safety, so the Raiders would likely be willing.
If he isn’t physically ready, the Raiders could look elsewhere or decide they are set in the secondary. Safety Michael Huff played well against San Diego and rookie safety Mike Mitchell is regaining his health.
While McAlister could be a decent fit in Oakland, we need more evidence than him telling friends he’ll be a Raider. We’ll revisit this one if it becomes official.
