Poll results: Chiefs to make noise
By Bill Williamson
Our readers believe the Kansas City Chiefs are the most likely of the four AFC West teams to make noise during this weekend’s draft.
Going by sheer odds, I think it’s the right call.
In our AFC West poll, as of 12:05 p.m. ET Wednesday, 42 percent of the votes cast believe the Chiefs will provide the biggest story line of the division during the draft. Denver was next at 25 percent, while San Diego received 20 percent of the vote and Oakland received 13 percent.
Tuesday, this is how I presented the situation: Kansas City is probably the most likely to make noise because it has the No. 11 pick. If the Chiefs land Texas A&M quarterback Ryan Tannehill, it will be a major story. San Diego has the No. 18 pick, but it could try to move up to take a big-time defensive player. Denver has the No. 25 pick. I think its intrigue could come in the form of a quarterback and/or running back on the second day. Oakland will be challenged to make big noise with its first pick being No. 95, but you never know what could happen.
So, the Kansas City call seems to be the safe bet. We’ll soon see how it all plays out.
