D.J. Williams isn't done fighting NFL
By Bill Williamson
D.J. Williams is not done fighting his NFL six game NFL ban.
CBS Sports reported that Williams has appealed the dismissal of his preliminary injunction. On Thursday, a federal judge dismissed Williams’ complaint filed against the NFL. The league suspended Williams earlier this year for using a banned substance.
Williams contended that the league violated protocol in collecting urine samples. Williams also faces a trial for drunk driving in August. It was his second arrest for drunk driving since 2005. He could face additional NFL discipline if convicted in that case.
The Broncos have been operating as if Williams will be lost for a lengthy period of time. Wesley Woodyard, Nate Irving and rookie Danny Trevathan will compete for playing time in Williams' absence.
