It is not a surprise Willie Anderson chose to sign with the Baltimore Ravens today. Anderson, who was cut by Cincinnati on Saturday, passed on San Diego and Tampa Bay to go to Baltimore.
Anderson could count on a starting job with his starters' money with the Ravens. San Diego was very interested in Anderson, but as a backup.
The Chargers like starting right tackle Jeromy Clary and they wanted Anderson as an insurance policy. San Diego is not necessarily hunting for offensive linemen but figured it would take a shot at getting him. Anderson's agent, Terry Bolar, said signing with San Diego was a viable choice for Anderson but in the end, Baltimore was the best opportunity.
