Poll results: Not surprised by Manning
By Bill Williamson
Apparently, Peyton Manning's terrific performance in his Denver Broncos’ debut didn’t shock many folks.
Our AFC West poll this week asked readers if they were surprised by Manning’s strong performance in a 31-19 win over Pittsburgh on Sunday night. In his first game in 19 months, Manning looked terrific as he threw for 253 yards and he led Denver on a fourth-quarter comeback win.
Apparently that performance was expected. As of 6 p.m. ET Wednesday, 74 percent of the voters said they were not surprised by Manning’s performance, while 26 percent voted that they were surprised.
I tend to agree with the majority on this one. Manning may have been a bit more smooth than I expected (he looked like he never left), but I did expected him to have a solid performance. But this was beyond solid. Thanks to everyone who played along.
