Evening AFC West notes
By Bill Williamson
San Diego coach Norv Turner plans to adjust the offense in light of two straight meltdowns, including an epic 35-24 home loss to Denver on Monday night. The Chargers became the fourth team in the Super Bowl era to blow a 24-point halftime lead.
- Oakland middle linebacker Rolando McClain saw his playing time dip Sunday at Atlanta, which happened to be the Raiders’ best defensive effort of the season. I could see the former No. 8 overall pick continue to lose playing time when Aaron Curry returns soon from a knee injury. Rookie Miles Burris, who replaced Curry, could take some of McClain’s playing time. Burris is promising.
- The Bears have reportedly cut former first-round pick, tackle Chris Williams. The Chargers could use some help. Perhaps they will consider Williams, who is not the answer as a starter, but perhaps could provide decent depth.
- The Raiders made a move on their practice squad.
