Should Chiefs deal Dwayne Bowe?
By Bill Williamson
Yes, there is more chatter about Dwayne Bowe wanting out of Kansas City.
That is not a shock. And, yes, as the trading deadline approaches, expect to hear more about the Chiefs trading the wide receiver.
It might be in the Chiefs’ best interest to think about dealing Bowe, who is having a solid season. If he truly is not interested in re-signing there, the Chiefs should consider moving him rather than franchising him and continuing to pay an unhappy player.
The Chiefs could get a solid draft pick (perhaps a second-rounder with some other considerations) for Bowe. Kansas City’s season is going nowhere with or without Bowe. So if a team such as Miami comes calling, it is something the Chiefs might want to consider in the next few weeks.
Meanwhile, in an Insider piece, Bill Polian looks at the top needs of the Chiefs and Raiders, among others. No surprises here. Polian thinks the Chiefs need a quarterback and the Raiders need a defensive end. I can’t argue with the man.
