Moving on: Oakland Raiders
By Bill Williamson
Here are some areas the Oakland Raiders need to focus on after a 26-16 win at Kansas City on Sunday:
Recap: This was the Raiders’ best overall game of the season. They are now 3-4 and in the AFC West hunt. The Raiders are taking advantage of lesser competition and that is important. The Raiders are growing and getting better.
Biggest area to fix: Themselves. It’s nothing too serious. Oakland just needs to continue to grow on both sides of the ball. If this team can hit its stride in November, perhaps good things can happen.
Biggest area to build on: Oakland running back Darren McFadden had 108 of his 114 yards rushing Sunday on runs inside the tackles, according to ESPN Stats & Information. It was his second-highest total of the season. He had carries of 28 and 21 yards on inside runs after having just one 20-plus-yard run inside the tackles this season. At his best, McFadden is a force between the tackles. This is a good sign.
What to watch for: The Raiders have a chance to win their third straight game and even their record to 4-4 with a home win over Tampa Bay on Sunday.
