NFL honors Trindon Holliday
By Bill Williamson
Trindon Holliday didn’t wait long to make an impact in Denver.
Holliday was named the AFC special teams player of the week after he set a team record with a 105-yard kickoff return in Denver’s 31-23 win Sunday over Cincinnati. It was Holliday’s third game as a Bronco. He was claimed last month off waivers from Houston.
In other AFC West news:
CSN Bay Area is reporting that Oakland running backs Darren McFadden and Mike Goodson are not practicing Wednesday because of high ankle sprains. Still, it doesn’t appear Oakland has signed a running back yet. If McFadden and Goodson can’t play, fullback Marcel Reece and Taiwan Jones will likely carry the rushing load. It will be interesting to hear what Oakland coach Dennis Allen says later Wednesday about the situation.
Meanwhile, Oakland defensive tackle Desmond Bryant is practicing. That is great news. Bryant was taken to a local hospital Sunday during the Raiders’ loss to Tampa Bay with a fast heartbeat.
