Moving on: Kansas City Chiefs
By Bill Williamson
Here are some areas the Kansas City Chiefs need to focus on after a 17-9 home loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday:
Recap: The Chiefs played hard, but they couldn’t play a complete game. The Chiefs fell to 1-10 and are now tied for the worst start in team history. Kansas City has lost eight straight games and are on pace to get the No. 1 pick in the draft. The Chiefs are 0-6 at home for the first time since 1976.
Biggest area to fix: Reach the end zone. The Chiefs have scored 15 points in the past two games -- all on field goals. The Chiefs have scored 41 points total in the past four games. They have not scored 20 points in a game since Week 4. It’s no secret why they have one win this season.
Biggest area to build on: Defensive spirit. The Chiefs played with a lot of spunk on defense Sunday and it didn’t let Denver pull away. Denver entered the game scoring 30 or more points in the past five games. On Sunday the Chiefs managed to frustrate Denver at times.
What to watch for: The Chiefs host the Carolina Panthers in what may be their best chance at a home win this season. They play on the road in three of the four final weeks. Kansas City’s last home game is against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 16 in a game that may have playoff ramifications for the Colts.
