Poll results: Support for Hue Jackson
By Bill Williamson
We expected this.
Our AFC West poll, asking whether Hue Jackson should have been kept as the coach in Oakland, was no contest. In a landslide, 68 percent of the votes cast believe Jackson should have been kept, while 32 percent believe he should have been fired.
The lopsided support for Jackson was to be expected. He was 8-8 in one season as the Raiders' head coach. Oakland is 3-8 under new coach Dennis Allen.
Jackson was fired because the Raiders were going in a new direction after the passing of owner Al Davis.
Jackson did a good job in Oakland, but he made some questionable personnel decisions and he often made folks in the building cringe with his comments.
New Oakland general manager Reggie McKenzie hired Allen. Jackson is now on the Bengals’ staff. Cincinnati beat Oakland on Sunday.
Thanks to everyone who played along.
