Broncos jump out to early lead
By Bill Williamson
BALTIMORE -- The Denver Broncos have started slow often this season.
That hasn’t been a problem Sunday. In a pivotal AFC game, Denver has jumped out to a 10-0 lead at Baltimore.
After settling for a field goal in the red zone early, the Broncos -- who were 2-of-7 in the red zone last week in Oakland -- went on a long scoring drive, culminating by a 1-yard touchdown run by running back Jacob Hester. It's Hester’s first game active as a Bronco.
Denver’s defense has been tremendous. The Ravens lost a fumble on their third play of their first drive and went three-and-out on their next four drives. They got their first first down on their sixth series.
