San Diego Chargers: Moving On
By Bill Williamson
Here are some areas the San Diego Chargers need to focus on after a 27-17 road win over the New York Jets on Sunday:
Recap: The Chargers dropped the Jets for their second road win in the past three games. San Diego is now 6-9. It didn’t really change much other than San Diego's draft position. The Chargers still expected to undergo big structural changes in the offseason.
Biggest area to fix: Offensive yardage. San Diego had some big plays on offense, but, for the sixth game, it was held under the 300-yard mark in offense. It is another sign of the major area of emphasis in the offseason.
Biggest area to build on: Pass-rush. The Chargers had 11 sacks. It was one sack shy of the NFL record for a game. That is incredible pressure. It’s very difficult lose with that type of pressure.
What to watch for: San Diego ends the season -- and very, very likely the Norv Turner era -- at home against Oakland. The Chargers beat the Raiders in Oakland in Week 1.
