Kansas City Chiefs
Kcchiefs.com continues its series highlighting the 30 most intriguing free agents with a look at defensive end Dwight Freeney.
The Chiefs aren't done with the quarterback position yet, writes Adam Teicher of the Kansas City Star. Teicher: "[General manager] John Dorsey’s history with Green Bay is that the Packers would many times draft a quarterback in a middle to late round in hopes of finding a gem. The same for Andy Reid with the Eagles, so expect the Chiefs at least to investigate heavily and perhaps make a pick in the third round or later."
Dorsey and Reid were facing a lose-lose situation at quarterback with the fan base, writes Patrick Allen of Arrowhead Addict. Allen: "Chiefs fans were so divided on what they thought Reid and Dorsey should do [at quarterback], there was going to be a sizable portion of them that were upset no matter what happened at the QB position."
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Raiders are still $800,000 over the 2013 salary cap.
Now that word has leaked out the Raiders are interested in West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith, Levi Damien of Silver & Black Pride weighs whether the interest is genuine or if these leaks are by design.
