AFC West notes

By Bill Williamson

New Kansas City offensive lineman Geoff Schwartz said he was told he is going to compete for a job. Given that he thinks he is a better guard than tackle, he will likely push second-year player Jeff Allen, but could also play tackle.

New Kansas City comeback Dunta Robinson made it clear he will be a nickel cornerback and not a safety.

Former San Diego defensive tackle Antonio Garay signed with the Jets. He was cut earlier this week.

Good move by the Chargers to secure Danny Woodhead and Ronnie Brown on Friday. They are set on third down and can save Ryan Mathews for first and second downs. Smart because of his durability issues.
