Oakland Raiders O-line still in flux
By Paul Gutierrez
ALAMEDA, Calif. – While the return of running backs Darren McFadden and Rashad Jennings to practice Wednesday from their hamstring injuries was good news for the Oakland Raiders as they prepare for the Kansas City Chiefs, Oakland’s offensive line remains in flux.
Center Stefen Wisniewski, who missed last week’s game with a sprained right knee, missed practice, as did rookie tackle Menelik Watson, who was out with a calf issue that first flared up in training camp. Watson returned to practice last week from knee surgery in the season’s first week.
“Obviously, it’s frustrating for him (and) it’s frustrating for us,” Raiders coach Dennis Allen said. “We haven’t been able to really have him out there. I think we’ve had him maybe a total of 10 days since the start of training camp.
“He’s got to get healthy, and once he gets healthy then we’ve got to have an opportunity to evaluate him and see what we have.”
On a positive note, right tackle Tony Pashos returned after missing the San Diego game. And Allen liked what he saw out of McFadden and Jennings.
“I thought both of them looked pretty good in practice today, in the reps that they took, and hopefully we’ll be able to have both of those guys for the game,” Allen said.
Here is the Raiders' injury report for Wednesday:
Did not participate: SS Tyvon Branch (ankle), LT Menelik Watson (calf), Stefen Wisniewski (right knee)
Limited practice: RB Rashad Jennings (hamstring), RB Darren McFadden (right hamstring), DT Stacy McGee (shoulder), RT Tony Pashos (groin), FB Marcel Reece (left knee)
