WR Moore misses practice again
By Paul Gutierrez
ALAMEDA, Calif. -- Denarius Moore, with 37 catches for 569 yards, has an outside shot at becoming the Oakland Raiders' first 1,000-yard receiver since Randy Moss in 2005.
Instead, Moore, is more likely to miss this weekend’s game against the Tennessee Titans.
Moore, nursing a sore shoulder, missed his second straight practice this week, along with defensive end Jason Hunter, running back Darren McFadden, and strong safety Tyvon Branch.
“Several guys need to step up,” said Raiders coach Dennis Allen, in the event Moore is unable to play. “It will give Brice Butler another opportunity, Andre Holmes would be a guy that would be able to step in there, Jacoby Ford. Those guys would have to step up for us in the passing game.
“Next man up. Somebody’s going to have to step up and perform.”
Quarterback Terrelle Pryor, now the backup to Matt McGloin, “moved around well” on his sprained right knee, Allen said.
“Hopefully he’s healthy enough to go,” Allen said, “and if he is, he’ll be up on Sunday.”
And if Hunter cannot play, Allen mentioned the likes of defensive tackle Vance Walker and defensive ends Ryan Robinson and Brian Sanford as potential replacements.
Also, Allen said he watched some of strong safety Tyvon Branch's side workout Thursday.
“He moved around better today,” Allen said. “His football-related activity has increased, so he’s another guy that I’m hoping that is getting pretty close.”
There were no changes in the Raiders’ injury report from the day before. Following, then, is the Raiders’ injury report for Thursday:
Did not participate: SS Tyvon Branch (ankle), DE Jason Hunter (foot), RB Darren McFadden (right hamstring), Denarius Moore (shoulder)
Limited practice: RG Mike Brisiel (ankle/knee), WR Juron Criner (right shoulder), WR Andre Holmes (shoulder), LB Kaluka Maiava (ribs), RT Matt McCants (toe), DT Daniel Muir (knee), QB Terrelle Pryor (knee)
