It looks like The San Diego Chargers will be without a key offensive cog in their pivotal game against New England on Sunday.
The Chargers have listed receiver Chris Chambers as doubtful to play Sunday night against the Patriots. Chambers did not practice at all in all three practices this week after suffering an ankle sprain late in San Diego's 17-10 loss at Miami last week.
The Chargers 'offense has been out of sync for most of the past two games. Losing Chambers would be a hit for quarterback Philip Rivers.
However, it looks like it won't be a total disaster. Chambers' fellow starting receiver, Vincent Jackson, was back at practice Friday and he is listed as probable on the injury report. Jackson didn't practice Thursday with a minor knee problem.
In addition to Chambers, linebacker Jyles Tucker, who is Shawne Merriman's replacement, is listed as doubtful with a hamstring injury. Marques Harris is set to play for Tucker.
San Diego's star running back LaDainian Tomlinson practiced fully today. He is listed as probable on the injury report and play Sunday night. Tomlinson was limited in practice Thursday and he did not practice Wednesday. He has a turf toe injury that he has been nursing since opening day. He has routinely taken practice days off but he has not missed a game.
