Kaeding has to withdraw from Pro Bowl
By Bill Williamson
Nate Kaeding won’t get the chance to put his horrible day in the AFC divisional playoff against the Jets behind him in the Pro Bowl.
The San Diego kicker had to withdraw from the Pro Bowl after he slightly tore his groin in the Pro Bowl practice Wednesday. He was replaced by Miami‘s Dan Carpenter.
Kaeding will now have to wait until the 2010 season to attempt a field goal in a game and try to wipe away the memory of Jan. 17. Kaeding -- who was first-team All-Pro -- missed three field goals, including two from inside 40 yards in a 17-14 San Diego upset loss to the Jets. Kaeding missed three field goals all season.
Before he withdrew Wednesday, Kaeding opened his heart to the San Diego Union Tribune. It is clear he is devastated by his untimely poor performance. It’s too bad Kaeding is now unable to try to finish the 2009 season on a high note.
