Succop was named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for saving the day against the previously perfect Green Bay Packers on Sunday. Barnes was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week for setting the tone in a 34-14 win over Baltimore.
Succop booted four field goals in the Chiefs' stunning 19-14 win over Green Bay, giving the Packers their first loss of the season. The Chiefs stalled in the red zone often in the game, but Succop bailed them out. It was his second such honor of the season. Succop is having a great season. He has made 21 straight field goals, which is the longest active streak in the league. He is one field goal shy of the team record of 22 straight made by Pete Stoyanovich.
Barnes had four of San Diego’s seven sacks against the Ravens. Barnes was a terrific find off the street last year by Chargers general manager A.J. Smith. Barnes has 11 sacks this season.
