One player to watch for each AFC West team in Week 8:

Denver defensive end Elvis Dumervil: Dumervil has been on a roll. Dumervil has four of his five sacks this season in the past three games. He is creating a good burst and will need to put pressure on Drew Brees on Sunday night.

Kansas City safety Eric Berry: Berry is slowly coming back from a torn ACL he suffered in Week 1 last season. Berry has struggled in coverage and he is not as explosive yet. It will come, but it’s not here yet. Let’s see if he can improve Sunday against visiting Oakland.

Oakland linebacker Philip Wheeler: He is becoming a leader on defense. Wheeler is a smart player who gives his full effort. He is fun to watch and the Chiefs will have to account for him Sunday.

San Diego tight end Antonio Gates: The Chargers are in a funk after two terrible losses. Philip Rivers needs some help and there is no one who can help Rivers in Cleveland more than Gates, his favorite receiver. Gates can lift this team out of the doldrums.
