The Chiefs cut four players on Friday. None were major figures on the team.

The team cut long-snapper Thomas Gafford, who played in nine games last season. Earlier this offseason, the team cut J.P. Darche, another long-snapper, earlier this offseason. The only exclusive long-snapper Kansas City currently has on the roster is Tanner Purdum. He is an undrafted free agent from Baker.

The other three players Kansas City cut were receiver C.J. Jones, defensive tackle T.J. Jackson and linebacker Darrell Robertson. Jackson played in four games for Kansas City last season.

The Chiefs have made some roster moves.

They waived guard Brian De La Puente and put long snapper J.P. Darche on the injured reserve list.

To replace the two on the 53-man roster, Kansas City signed tackle Andrew Carnahan from the Jacksonville practice squad. He is an Arizona State product. Kansas City also signed long snapper Thomas Gafford from Houston.

The signing of Gafford is another in a series of specialist additions. Last week, Kansas City added kicker Connor Barth and punter Steve Weatherford.
