CBS Sports reported Denver worked out running back Steve Slaton and the team could sign him if Willis McGahee is put on the injured reserve, McGahee has a knee injury that is expected to keep him out at least six weeks. Still, Denver may want to wait to see if McGahee could come back for the postseason.

- U-T San Diego reported the Chargers put long snapper Mike Windt on the injured reserve with a wrist injury and they signed Kyle Nelson to replace him.
