The Chiefs reportedly put defensive end Glenn Dorsey on injured reserve. The No. 5 pick of the 2008 draft is a free agent at the end of the season and there is a strong chance he will not return to Kansas City.

CBS Sports ponders how Andy Reid could be a good fit in San Diego if he is fired by the Eagles and the Chargers make major changes. We looked at the fit last year. Still makes sense to me if the right things happen.

Fox Sports has an update on Todd Haley’s arbitration case over unpaid contract money with the Chiefs. He was fired by Kansas City last December. He is now the offensive coordinator in Pittsburgh. The Chiefs visit the Steelers on Monday night.

This was an impressive win for the Chargers.

They made the key plays when they had to in beating the Dolphins.

It seems games are going to be tougher for San Diego to win in 2009 than we all expected because of the glut of injuries the team sustained. But the Chargers are proving to be gutsy.

They worked hard to come back against Oakland on Opening Night and they played well against Baltimore.

Now, they slugged out a win to go to 2-1. This was a pivotal game for San Diego. It couldn’t go to Pittsburgh next week with a 1-2 record. Denver looks good at 3-0 and the Chargers needed to keep pace.

San Diego will need to learn to play through its injuries, but it avoided going under .500 Sunday and that could loom big down the road.
