TEMPE, Ariz. -- Cardinals nose tackle Dan Williams may have had some aggression to take out during Sunday's game against the Panthers.
It was his first game back since losing his father, Thomas, in a car accident on Sept. 20. Dan's dad was driving with his mother and sister to New Orleans for the Cardinals-Saints game. Dan left the team to be with his family after the accident and returned to the Cardinals on Oct. 1.
He was eased back into his first game, playing just 17 snaps. But he had the hit of the game in the second quarter. Williams chased Carolina running back DeAngelo Williams 19 yards before finishing the play with a bruising hit.
"Danny being fresh, he made an unbelievable play chasing down that screen," coach Bruce Arians said. "He looked like a defensive back himself coming down there and laid out the running back."
