Flush the Pocket will be your daily morning dose of the Arizona Cardinals. It’ll recap the top storyline from the previous day and give you a look at what everyone is saying locally and nationally.

TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Cardinals can’t hit the road for the bye week just yet.

They will practice Tuesday and Wednesday and then have four days off. Tuesday will be in shells and coach Bruce Arians will decide Wednesday if they’ll wear pads.

The bye comes after the Cardinals had 10 days in between games, but Arians doesn’t think it’ll be tough for his players to focus for the next two days.

“It should be easier,” he said. “Guys should become fresher. The two days off last week helped and the hard practice Monday and Wednesday. We’ll see how it goes next week when we can only use pads once.

“No, this is a perfect time for a bye week for us.”

Kent Somers of AZCentral.com writes about the Cardinals still being in playoff contention after eight games.

Matt Swartz of FoxSportsArizona.com writes about general manager Steve Keim’s comments on Larry Fitzgerald.
